What is EFT?

How Does EFT Work?

Until recently, there were very few quick and effective ways to change the programs in our brain. However, over the last 30 years, there has been an astounding number of techniques that have been producing amazing results.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or Tapping is a form of energy psychology. Energy Psychology is an umbrella term that shelters a host of integrated approaches to psychotherapy, coaching, and energy work.

EFT is also a type of acupressure meridian therapy. You simply use two or three fingers to tap on various meridian points on the body while concentrating on what you are feeling and thinking.

It's really that simple. The tapping balances the energy meridians that become blocked or disrupted when we are feeling negative emotions and limiting beliefs.

EFT is now being researched, and recent studies from randomised controlled trials have found positive results. The researchers who have conducted trials based on meridian therapies have found that applying pressure on various points calms the flight or fight centre of the brain known as the amygdala.

This technique has been used extensively to help people recover from:

  • Psychological conditions -  PTSD, phobias, depression, and anxiety.
  • Physiological problems - pain, autoimmune conditions (psoriasis and fibromyalgia).
  • Can reduce cravings and promote weight loss
  • Been found to produce physiological regulation of the autonomic nervous system and the
    HPA axis.

It's also been used successfully in:

  • Performance - in sport, business, fear of public speaking and academic improvement.

Now the question is - how will this help you reach your potential and manifest the life you want?

Your potential is directly affected by your view of yourself, the world and your place in it.

EFT can help you change your beliefs. If your subconscious mind is playing a program over and over, then EFT is the modality you can use to rewrite the program. This is because, with EFT, you can directly access your subconscious mind.

For example - you've got a desire and a contradictory belief in your subconscious mind. This belief is causing an uncomfortable feeling in your body. This uncomfortable feeling in your body will reinforce the belief in your subconscious.

It's like a feedback loop between the mind and body.

I use EFT in my coaching work because, in my experience, it has the fastest and most permanent outcomes. I see the profound changes occur not only in my clients but have experienced them within myself as well.
