Some religions frown upon the use of statues in spiritual work. From what I hear from these people, it's because they believe that the statues is the thing being worshipped or that you can't represent spirit through an "idol".

Other spiritual traditions are rich with pictures, statues, and iconography depicting their deities. So who is right?
