What You Must Consider Before You Join A Coven
Joining a coven is one of the best ways to learn more about the craft. There is nothing more fulfilling than working with other people who share the same beliefs as you do.
I remember when I first started out, I was really keen to find a coven. However, there weren't many around. I did manage to find a fantastic training coven and spent 3 years with them before some of us hived off and formed another coven.
Coven life was full of learning, fun and magickal development. I loved it.
Being a part of a group is a commitment and the decision to join a functional coven should be taken seriously. A working group requires regular effort to turn up, contribute and support. In return, the coven will provide you with friendships, knowledge, learning and community support.
In the video below I talk about key questions you must ask yourself before you join a coven.
In brief, ask yourself the following questions.
1. What kind of experience do the leaders of the coven have?
2. How much time can you commit to the coven?
3. Does the coven claim a historical lineage? If so what is the proof of this?
4. How are the rituals performed?
5. Do they have a training programme?
6. How is the coven structured?
7. What is the financial contribution?
Always make sure that you feel comfortable with the group members and especially the leadership. Stay clear of dysfunctional groups where the leader is often a narcissist who covertly disempowers the group members.
