• Card 1: The Shadow – What’s hidden or lurking in your subconscious. This card reveals the parts of yourself you haven’t fully acknowledged.

• Card 2: The Torch – What’s shining light on your situation? This card identifies where you’re stuck and how to move past it.

• Card 3: The Path Revealed – The way forward. This card invites you to step into a new version of yourself, even if it feels uncomfortable.

To begin, I clear my space and focus on Hekate’s presence. I imagine her standing before me at a crossroads, holding her torches to light my path. A simple prayer I like to use is:

“Oh, Hekate, torchbearer, keeper of the keys, guide me through the crossroads of my soul. Light the way to what I most need to see and reveal the truth that will set me free.”

Insights from One of My Readings

In a recent Crossroads Reading, I received powerful insights that perfectly illustrated how this spread works:

• The Shadow (The Empress) – This card, often associated with abundance and creativity, revealed an imbalance in my energy. I realised I was too focused on giving and not enough on receiving. It was a reminder to restore my energy and allow myself to rest and receive.

• The Torch (Seven of Wands) – A confrontational card that urged me to stand my ground and defend my creativity and feminine energy against external pressures.

This reading reminded me how important it is to balance the masculine and feminine energies within. The Empress and Emperor complement each other beautifully, symbolising the union of nurturing creativity and structured action. For me, it was about stepping into leadership while still honouring the restorative power of the feminine.
